I am trying to get a green card for the US. My parents are from east asia and I was born in Canada. I went to University in Maryland from 1992-96 and obtained my dental license. I am licensed in the US and intend to purchase a dental office soon. I will still be keeping my dental office in Canada for at least 1 year once I am able to work in the US. I heard about a investment visa however I am not investing more than $400k but it will employ at least 4 US nationals(ctizens). Can I still use the investment visa or can I get a visa for opening a secondary dental office in the US and still keep my existing office in Canada until I qualify for a green card. Also can anyone recommend a good lawyer. How much should it cost for me and my family(wife and 3 children ). Email me if you wish AT

The last report was somewhere in September 2007. Good to see that they have cleared July 07 bump in processing the 485s. they have nearly taken 29 months to clear it up.

There is no issue if your wife is the derivative applicant and gets her EAD through you. You can also start but it is more complicated since your business has to be doing excatly the same thing as your labor application. Also, i think you should get lawyers advice if you are starting it. There is no complication for your wife to start a business.

Even, Recessions come and go (happened only a few time in the last century)..
BUT,,,,,,
Most of the immigrants come here but never go back.
Enjoy your stay here and live the fullest and stay focused with your job / career. Coz that�s what keeps you going and I bet everyone here will get their green cards some day.

I have an old H1B visa with approval date December 19, 2000. I moved to US in Jan 2001 and spend only 2 months in USA in total. Stay outside USA from Mar 2001 until now.
Can I apply for the remaining time against my initial six-year period of admission and will be exempted from the cap?

We have started our work on this.
On that note, if you guys have any popular regional/local print/TV/radio media, any names/email/contact, please post it on this thread.
if you have a phone num/email and not comfortable posting on a public forum, pls send a note to info@immigrationvoice.org with a subject title "Media" and it will go to the apporpriate people.

Hello all,
I had my 140 reinstated in Feb-09 after it was denied back in 08 (filed motion to reopen). Last week i inquired about the status of my case since my visa category is current (VB 02/2003), I received a letter yesterday informing me that the case is out of the processing date, my 140 priority date is 12/2002. is this a mistake or my priority date has change to feb-09?
