I am sorry if I am wrong, but do you think if IV CORE try to hold a meeting with top CIS officials on this issue, wouldn't that be more effective? Many members reported not getting proper response to letters. Who knows whether anyone @CIS has time & willingness to read and act on our letters? Why not take an active approach rather than passive one?
I agree, We still should send the letters though. I will send mine by monday Nov. 10. Meanwhile, if we can do the webfax or email, we may can have more members participate. just my 2 cents!

Actually this letter campaign is just one part of the whole exercize. There are other efforts to talk with USCIS officials but to get positive/quick results we need to make enough noise so that officials recognize that it is a problem affecting large number of people. We need to keep on sending letters.
As can be expected its not an easy task to establish a proper channel and talk to officials and make them agree that recent spate of denials are wrong and are not in accordance with AC21 regulations (as someone pointed out AC21 regulations are only guidelines and not rules - so we need to tread a careful path here). To establish this proper channel and also for strong negotiation in our favor - we need to bring attention to this issue. The best way for that is to write to them - of course we might receive some generic replies, its fine - but if we send hundreds of letters with same request/complaint it does will catch their attention and help us in speeding up the other steps that are thought of as part of this campaign.

Most makes sense but I don't think any candidates wait for their companies to file for EB1. EB1s can be filed by the candidates themselves. Right? All in all, if this happens, it will be good news for atleast a couple of 1000 EB2-I. :D

This situation will allow me to advance the India EB-2 cut-off date for May. The reason being that all �otherwise unused� numbers are provided strictly in priority date order, and the India demand has the largest concentration of early dates.�
There have been two reasons for China and India EB2 cutoff dates not moving forward as rapidly as had been the case in the past. The first is the unusually high demand for EB1 numbers and the second has been the increased demand for EB2 numbers represented by EB3 to EB2 upgrades.

Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. My friend whose PD is Dec 30 2004 - EB2 - Texas got his approval email. But he is already in india and travelling back this Oct 12th.
He already has valid Advanced Parole with him.
He wants to if there are any issues for him to enter at port of entry?
Any documents or print out of approval etc to be carried with him?
Does he needs to tell the office that his GC got approved?
Please help.
no trouble he can simply re-enter on advance parole. no need to carry any proof of approval of GC

Hard to tell. FBI nor USCIS has ever published demographic information on name checks. Out of 1 million USC and and 1 million or so green cards some of them get stuck in name check. Indians and Chinese don't make up more than 10% of these people yet, most of the name check complaints on the web are from these two groups. It is hard to say if this means these are the most affected groups because many family category immigrants may not be very educated and articulate and may not be petitioning the government and being proactive. So it is very hard to say if one or the other group is more or less affected. You can however look up the below link and form an opinion yourself from the 4000 odd signatures of people stuck in name check:

Thousands of people are paying thousands of dollars to port to EB2 but they can't spare even a shameful 5 bucks to support a truly great initiative.
By the way , I am serious about lawsuit. As it will block an easy way out for most people.
I guess everybody should support Rolling and Sunny because this initative will create an opening for all other immigration issues.
Everyone waiting for years to get their GC has a real reason to think why USCIS didn't do their job right.
I would say if Sunny and Rolling stone really file a lawsuit, it is like they turning the spotlight on USCIS and from there the rest us can work to bring more light to the bigger issues with USCIS

Multiple 485 and EAD filing

My wife and I both got our LC approved. She filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently for both of us in Nov.2006 (Nebraska Center), based on her LC. Then I filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently for both of us again in Jan,2007 (Texas Center), based on my LC.
The EADs she applied got aproved pretty quickly. Several days ago, my EAD applications got denied. The denial reason is, we already have approved EAD.
Originally our plan is: My wife will switch to a Finance related job soon (her LC is based on Software job), I will wait for GC. (The reason we still filed for multiple 485 and EAD is that we want to postpone the decision on who should wait for GC). Now I'm totally confused on whether she can use the EAD, and whether I can renew the approved EAD (because they are based on her application).
Any inputs or clarifications will be greatly appreciated.
