Yes, on the already-approved I-140. I am not sure if LUDs mean anything at all.

I am a physician MD currently doing IM residency on H1B. i have a job to start from oct 2007. since PDS for india are now current, i would like to know if my employer can file PERM for a prospective employee now in june. my univerdity lawyer is not clear or rather not willing to file.

I bet there are tons of fine print to be qualified as "Illegal", I keep hearing " people who CAME (entered) ILLEGALLY before jan 2007..." , so " legal to ILLEGAL conversion " will not qualify i think.

Lou has branded an entire national communiy in his hate filled rhetoric. I appreciate that good people differ in their views on immigration, but this crosses the line. H1b is "cheap Indian labor" and "overstay their visas" ??
Lou believes in quoting no facts, just bullishly repeating such views. Nobody who disagrees can ever get a word in. I am a specialist physician with multiple degrees and board certifications. I practice in underserved communities, speak fluent English and pay my taxes. My visa status is and always has been legal. Do I meet the Lou standards? I am waiting in an endless line for a green card that keeps me at the bottom based on my country of birth. So much for Lou's cheap labor! Has everyone forgotten his tacit support for outsourcing in his "other professional life"?
Shame on CNN for allowing this. I, for one, have no further interest in this channel.

class action lawsuit?? for using up too many visa's too fast?
wow. for once (& only once) I feel sad for USCIS. They are damned if they do, and damned if they dont. Usually all talk of class action lawsuits have been for visa numbers that they wasted by approving too slowly. Now another one for going too fast... :D
Seriously, I would be very very happy they are for a change working really fast so no wastage of numbers this time around. common guys don't you think is it good for us over all. may be we will not see some movement for some time but at least you know that we are not suffering because of USCIS's inefficiency.

Yeah if the restriction was for non immigrants none of their "special" buddies from gulf states like UAE, Saudi, Kuwait etc would be able to visit.
Many of those " special buddies" would have diplomatic passports, hence no inspection at the POE
But i think you can not practice polygamy or bring multiple spouse to the US on non immigrant visa

Thanks for the useful info. I hope this version goes through. :confused: I found the information regarding both the senate and house bills on AILA's website. From my understanding, they are going to attach this version of the bill...hopefully, without any changes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Focus should be on creating jobs. For that US needs to allow skilled legal immigrants to stay.
Agreed, not all legal immigrants will become enterpreneurs and create jobs but I still think that contribution from skilled workers is more to the economy and has a much larger impact than that of illegal migrants!
