USCIS has decided that the flowers sent by skilled, legal immigrants to director Dr. Emilio Gonzalez will be forwarded to injured service members recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at Bethesda Naval Hospital.
We welcome the fact that Dr. Gonzalez acknowledged the symbolic gesture of our protest. We are even more happy that these flowers will brighten the day of our injured service brethren. It is their contribution to the American freedom that has made this country such a desirable destination for highly skilled professionals from all over the world.
We also want to convey to the service personnel receiving those flowers that our message accompanying those flowers is, "Thank You and God Bless You".

We have sent 2 magicjack's to India, one at my parents and one at in-laws....they need to have a computer and high speed internet access there. For the first yr it is costing us $40 per yr each and starting 2nd year it will cost us $20 per yr each. They call us all the time now and calls are crystal clear and you can't beat $40/year price.
because
1. With MagicJack You need to pay internet connection charges in India and need to have computer and run computer always
2. With Vonage you can call any number in India

As usual typical stereotyping devoid of any reality and isn't even worth a reply. It is clear that knowledge of the above poster about ameriacn teenager comes from watching MTV.
No wonder otherwise tolerant americans are saying "F*** You" to fraudulent indian companies trying to commit fraud under the guise of globalization.
Usual Xenophobic rant.
Which site have you come from? Who do you represent? Tell your masters to open some education classes and help you learn new technologies so that you can find a job. That is better use of your time and money.
They say, idle mind is devils workshop.
It is because of people like you USA is losing is competitive edge.

Looks like they do not publish the e-mail address to contact congressman. You can send e-mail only through contact your rep system where you can send only to your local rep. If your ZIP code does not match the congressman's district, then you cannot send him the mail. Even to Judiciary committee chairman !!!!!!!!!!!
The only alternative is to send fax. I don't know how I can send so many faxes when I don't have fax at my home.
IV core: Any solution??? About 20 support messages are at stake from my side alone.
Guys,
I got these addresses in case you want to use:. I got the list from one of the forums here. If something is not OK or the list itself, please let me know and I can change it. Else to be safe, I will send these today in the next 2-3 hrs based on responses here.
Thanks,

WEDNESDAY - Suspended I-140 PPS anticipating huge demand from people
for whom the visa numbers would be available - FACT!!
FRIDAY - Allowed doctors from "any area" - FACT!!
MONDAY - We won't accept any applications?????? ----RUMOUR
they don't add up
I was thinking on the same line. Why to wait at the last moment and that too when today they allowed the medical examinations to be done outside the local area. I guess, time to chill out, have some beer (i'm already having) and worry on monday. We anyway can't do anything about it on sat-sun.

Most of us are at the mercy of our attorney's to file for I-485. The attorney's take their sweet time to prepare the draft and send the application. In this heated moment the attorney's offices should hire more people and get the ball rolling.
All that we can do as employees is pester our HRs and attorneys.:p
more than 100% true...My attorney took two weeks to prepare the 3 forms and when he sent out those forms to me for review, I was amazed to see it was full of errors and mistakes. Finally, I'd to prepare the application and send it to him. Application is so simple that anyone can prepare it. I think we should better do it ourselves if given the chance.

Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. They are taking time off and spending own money for you and me. Nothing is free in this world. IV is also doing this for you and me and we are taking it for granted. At the cost of being bombarded by every one in this forum,
if the VB bulletin is indeed "retrogressed" to Pre madness - back to what was supposed to be the next jump from June 2003 (perhaps 6 months or more for EB3 and 2005 for EB2), this would actually be a good thing in my opinion.
What they did by making the VB current is going to have serious consequences a few months down the line. People who have been waiting for years may still not get their turn in line, while others simply jump ahead and take away the visa numbers. People are excited at the short term benefits of EAD/AP but we must look at the long term effects also.
I believe (and im entitled to my own beliefs ) that if anything, USCIS/DOS have actually finally figured out their mistake of making everything current and are now back tracking to what would be a decent situation instead of the floodgates being opened. I dont believe it has anything to do with conspiracy theories or CIR or any such thing.
And btw - i would be one of those people who spent money to get ready for the floodgates and i would also be one of those that gets stuck!
What you said could be true but only if they move the dats back like you mentioned. would show utter inefficiency if they make them all U.

I have the same question as I think, it is not possible. How can you re-apply for the same job you are in currently, in EB2?
Yes you can -when you were eligible for the EB2 filing at the time of filing for EB3!
Why would someone do that u ask? Please call my employer and ask him this question. The answer is - so that you are stuck with him for few more years.

This is my case:
I am not working with my GC (I140) sponsoring company. I applied 485 based on that 140 from my previous company.
Got 3yr H1extn (from Vermont, EAC, in Dec 2007)for current company based on that approved 140.
Got EAD , AP approved.
My previous H1 visa expired in 2004. ( 4yrs gap)
Is it better to go to consulate (Chennai) for stamping ? or use AP?
If I use AP, at POE ( Newark EWR)if I were asked why I am not with GC sponsoring employer what should I say ?
Is there any issue for going stmaping after a long gap ?
Please adivse.

"7% country speciific limit for primary applicants" and "2% country specific dependent limit" is mentioned in every bulletin published so far and so actually it is 9% limit - country specific together.
But question is " what is the meaning of it?" and "How to read it?"
Now the tables what are published in bulletin and we smash our heads daily on them are meant for "Visa number availability" not for "Physical Green card orderering".
So numbers (28.6% divided by 5 per each preference-country) are meant for USCIS to process and assign visa numbers till that limit reached.
"7% + 2%" country specific limit is meant for "Sending Greencard /Ordering Greencard".
In simplest form, EB-I will have 8008 X 3 (Without spilied over) = 24024 applications assigned Visa number this year and out of that ( 9% X 140000 = 12600) lucky ones will get their physical green cards THIS YEAR. The rest will get their physical green cards next year though their files have been assigned numbers (Pre-adjudicated.) this year.
Above mentioned explanation is the real meaning of this bullshit.
calculating and interpreting 0.07 x 0.286 for particular country is a wrong concept and I know millions of us follow that in their analysis and arguments but that is completely wrong.

Another poison choice!!!!
To make it look politically correct, I guess the new revised buletin won't be out till the end of 1st week july. They will make it look natural and stop taking new applications from 9th. :D

I have an appointment at Mumbai Consulate on Jan 2 for H1-B & H4 renewal.
People who interviewed in December and have started receiving passports back - please provide information in the format below. Thanks!
Date of interview, Passport received back (yes/no), Date passport received (or N/A), Visa class, Consulate location, Visa renewal only (yes/no), Any other info. worth sharing.
Eg:
Dec 5, Passport rcvd -YES, Dec 12, H1-B, Chennai, Renewal-yes
other details: <.....................>
Below is some background info. on this recently introduced change:
Delays in Visa Issuance Resulting from the Department of States New Directive on Nonimmigrant Visa Issuance
The U.S. Department of State (DOS) instructed consular posts that approvals of H, L, O, P and Q visa petitions must be verified through the Petition Information Management Service (PIMS) before a nonimmigrant visa can be issued. PIMS is an electronic report generated by DOSs Kentucky Consular Center that collects nonimmigrant visa petition approval information from USCIS. PIMS contains data on initial petition approvals and on L blanket petitions that were approved in 2004 or later. PIMS does not contain information on approvals of extension of stay or changes of status petitions.
Consular officers adjudicating visa applications must consult PIMS to verify the approval of the underlying nonimmigrant visa petition. If the petition approval cannot be verified through PIMS, the officer must contact the Kentucky Consular Center, which in turn attempts to verify the approval through USCISs Computer Linked Applications Information Management System (CLAIMS).
DOS officials state that PIMS verification typically takes no more than 24 hours and that verification through CLAIMS typically takes two business days. Most cases involving initial nonimmigrant visa petitions are verified within these timeframes. However, we have received many reports of longer processing times for extension of stay and change of status cases. These cases must be verified with the assistance of the Kentucky Consular Center and can take longer to be processed. DOS has indicated that there are no current plans to include extension and change of status approval information in PIMS, which may result in significant delays for many applicants.
Foreign nationals who will be applying for nonimmigrant visas should expect longer processing times due to the new PIMS and CLAIMS verification requirement. How long the electronic process will take may vary from case to case. However, same-day and next-day visa issuance should not be expected. DOS projects that visa issuance will improve once the agency moves to a full online NIV application system in mid-2008.
